Once limited to traditional body-on-frame designs, the pickup truck segment is now broader and more diverse than ever. Consumer demand is strong, which is why Honda has just announced that a third generation of the popular Ridgeline will be unveiled in the near future.
The Honda Ridgeline first entered the market in 2006 with a unibody construction, a rather innovative concept at the time. It was powerful, practical, and above all, exceptionally reliable. The Japanese automaker decided to build on that success in 2017 with a second generation featuring styling that was much closer to that of conventional pickup trucks. The Honda Ridgeline has evolved considerably over the years. Its 2021 facelift brought a tougher and more appealing design. Later on, Honda even introduced versions with enhanced off-road capability, which helped boost the model\'s popularity. The second-generation Honda Ridgeline will bow out over the coming months, but the gap it leaves behind will quickly be filled with the arrival of a third generation within the next two years.
Ready to Take Charge
Very little is known about the upcoming third-generation Honda Ridgeline, but considering how much the Japanese automaker\'s pickup has evolved over the past two decades, it\'s easy to believe that the next iteration of the model will be highly competitive.
Honda proudly states that its new pickup truck has been designed, engineered, and even tested right here in North America—a mark of quality, but more importantly, a guarantee that the product has been developed to meet the needs of local buyers.
The Japanese automaker is promising an even tougher design for the new model, something that\'s already evident in the first image released by the company. A boxier silhouette, all-terrain tires, increased ground clearance—the next Honda Ridgeline is already looking very promising.
One thing is certain: we can\'t wait to learn more about the model.
